Seeded Rolls

Great for burgers, cold roast meat sandwiches and mini falafel! Very easy to bake...

Ingredients (4 – 6 rolls)

  • 250g Strong White Bread Flour
  • 2/3 of a sachet Allinsons Yeast
  • 5g Maldon Salt
  • Drizzle Rape Seed Oil
  • 175ml Warm Water

Mix your ingredients up in a bowl with a spoon – and then knead for 10 minutes or so…

Rest in a bowl, in a warm place, covered with a tea towel, for 1 hour

Divide the dough up into 6 pieces and roll into a ball shape.  Place each ball onto a baking tray lined with greaseproof paper and leave, again, for 1 hour in a warm place (covered gently)….they’ll rise and fill out

Pre-heat your oven to 200˚c

Egg-wash the rolls and sprinkle with seeds (Linseeds, Sesame Seeds, Poppy Seeds….)

Cook for 15 minutes or until they are golden

Rest on a wire rack before serving – they need at least 20 minutes before eating

These are good with Burgers – also for breakfast with Scrambled Eggs or a slice of Gammon
